Gov. Kim Reynolds, This Won't Sway Iowans

We are disappointed our governor is choosing to celebrate the “approval” of the Pfizer vaccine and spread false information regarding its effectiveness (albeit just on twitter) in order to encourage Iowans to get vaccinated.

All someone needs to do is look at the research coming out of Israel and other highly vaccinated populations to see the effectiveness, including against variants, is waning (1-7) and those who are vaccinated are 27 times more likely to get infected and spread illness compared to those who have already survived natural infection (. This is not to mention the fact that they are more likely to carry a viral load, without symptoms, spreading the virus asymptomatically to those around them. (9)

Perhaps instead of celebrating an agency that consistently grants conflict of interest waivers to its voting members (10) and receives more than 75% of its funding from the industry it is regulating (11), she should be leading the charge to protect the rights of her citizens to decide what is best for their health and their bodies as she swore an oath to do by the Iowa Constitution. Without action coming from this administration, aside from the minimal protections offered by the Vaccine Passport Ban bill HF847, Iowa will continue to see businesses usher in “show us your papers” policies that are already becoming the norm in New York and coming soon to California under AB455 (12).

How long will it take for these papers or digital apps to turn into social currency that has become the way of life in countries with communist-style governments? Governor Kim Reynolds, what will you do to stop the corporate socialism that is being forced into our country? Right now you still have a chance to act by calling a special session and passing legislation to defend the civil and human rights of Iowans. As our current leader, can we depend on you to stand up and defend our liberty or will Iowans need to pursue a leader who will?
